Promoted

So, one way in the right direction...

I am promoted as "korpral". I'm not sure if the correct translation and and correct value will be lance-corporal, or corporal, I guess it's different between USA and UK and so on. But, it will be somewhere between lance-corporal and lance-sergeant.

So hold on, here it comes, the epic picture:

The hill of Slane

My first sight of The hill of Slane
Two years ago I went to Ireland for the first time, and it was also the first time I've travelled alone. I were exhilarated, and very nervous. But it all went fine, thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Carslake. They made sure that I had the greatest time of my life.
The best part of the vacation was when I followed Mr. Carslake on roadtrips and he told stories about the places and the buildings he shown to me. I'm ashamed to admit that I really don't remember as much of it as I wanted to. But I remember how amazed I were just to listening to him. He's really talented that way - the way he speaks always makes me feel like a kid listening at adventurous stories. To be honest with you, the whole bloody family has the same affect on me.
Any way, the hill of Slane was the place that took me by storm.
It was so beautiful, and very peaceful. Just the thought of the places brings tears to my eyes. I don't think I've ever reached to such a level of mindfulness as the day I looked over the old buildings. Well, maybe once at the monastery in Taizé, but that was spiritual, this was different  - and very hard to explain. I'm simply spellbound to the place.

Of course I have not forgot the other places we went to (just the names for some of the places). But Howth Harbor, Malahide Castle and Monasterboice are the names I do remember. The rest of it will simply be pictures in my own memory. Thanks to the family I had light-hearted and hilarous days in Ireland.

This one is my personal fav of my pics from the hill of Slane
Just so you know, 2 years later I'm going back (this august) and this time I'll have a new (better) camera (with better battery) so I'll take more pictures.

Role model update

I wanted to send Kevin Richardson a motivation trigger - and so I did:

"Hi
I hope you know that what you does is inspiring. It's actually nothing less than spectacular. The few people who building up respect between humans and animals are talented and humble. And when you deserves respect from animals like lions and hyenas, then you're truly something special! And all I can wish you is that you gets the same respect from other humans.
Good luck with your projects!"

I actually didn't thought that any of them had any time to read it, but I got a response by Mandy the same day (or someone else who signed under with Mandys name, but I'm happy anyway) and they put my little message as the 'inspiring message for the day'.

One word: Awsome

Kind regards

Role model

So, to get used to start thinking in english I'll try to write here once in a while to practice for my trip to Ireland. I'm so excited(!!!) but this post will be about role models.

I've never had a idol while growing up, and I still hasn't. But I had role models, and now I've more than ever before.

So, who are they?
Well, my instructors of course;
All the instructors from the time I used to train martial art, most of the instructors I had as a youth at the volountary defence organisations, and some of my teachers. And during my time as a youth leader at the confirmations I were privileged to work with te two best pastors I've ever met. I can tell you that I'm relieved that I've got the chanse to have all this role models, because it's making me to who I am. I'm defenetly not perfect, but I've a lot of different interests (thanks to all my role models), and for that I've got the highest potential to be humble for other things, new things, and I believe it can help me to be a better person compered to if I only had one or two idols.

Now, I'm gonna tell you about a role model who I think I can see as a idol. Someone I've never met, but who I find very inspiring; Kevin Richardsson, the lion whisperer. One of my dreams is to work as a volontary for 2 or 4 weeks at The kingdom of the white lion. What this guy does is amazing, and if I ever have the chanse to help him, I would do it without spending any time in regret!

While writing this post I went to his homepage and read the "inspiring message for the day", All I can do is to agree:
"13-03-2012 - Inspiring message for the day
I just wanted to say thank you! for showing your lions that there are some good humans that love animals... Kevin, you are truly blessed from GOD to have the opportunity to be with your lions... I hope one day all your animals can live in harmomy with humans. Your pictures and video's have brought tears to my eyes! I wish I could be you just for one day, to be with these amazing creatures from GOD [...]"

I hope he gets all the respect that he deserves. Because if you deserves respect from animals like lions and hyenas, then you're truly something special!
